Japanese restaurant chain Origami Sushi has opened its first outlet in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), HotelNewsME has reported.

The newest location, situated in Marsa Al Bateen, marks the restaurant chain’s fifth location in the country.

Origami Sushi has three properties in Dubai and one in Sharjah.

Origami Marsa Al Bateen offers a Japanese fusion menu including signature dishes from other locations and dishes exclusive to this outlet, and ranging from soups, salads and small plates to sushi, robata – fireside cooking – skewers and large plates.

The menu includes dishes such as prawn tempura, chicken tsukune skewers and wagyu ribeye and black Angus beef.

It also features small plates such as Japanese Tuna Pizza and Wagyu in Potato Chips, Black Cod Hoso Maki, Soft Shell Crab and Wagyu Tartare Roll.

Robata and large plates include tenderloin, salmon teriyaki and braised short rib dishes.

The design of Origami Marsa Al Bateen draws inspiration from traditional Japanese culture and cuisine.

The outlet features a temple-like structure and has both indoor and outdoor seating areas, with the indoor area including a sushi bar and main dining area.

It also has a private dining room, the koshitsu room, offering an intimate Japanese dining experience for up to eight guests with its own kitchen and service staff.

It provides guests the option to choose from the regular menu or select special shared dishes, which are prepared in front of them by the Origami chefs.

Origami Sushi was founded in 2014. Its flagship store is located on the top floor of the Al Souq Mall in the Umm Suqeim 3 coastal community in Dubai.
