The UAE and Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on renewable energy projects in Pakistan.
The agreement was formalized during the visit of Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE’s Special Envoy for Climate Change and President-designate of COP-28, along with a high-level delegation.
The MoU was signed by Sharif al Olama, UAE’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, and Rashid Mahmood Langrial, Secretary Power Division of Pakistan.
The delegation also met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, where discussions focused on strengthening the partnership between the two countries in the renewable energy sector.
The UAE expressed its interest in enhancing collaboration with Pakistan to improve energy security, and Prime Minister Sharif extended Pakistan’s support for the upcoming COP28.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the Special Investment Facilitation Council and shared details of the 10,000 MW solar energy projects, which had already garnered interest during a roadshow held in Dubai.
