Avesta.Tj | 02/20/2023 | Traffic on the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway is temporarily restricted for all types of vehicles, the press service of the branch of the Innovative Road Solutions (IRS) company reports.

It is noted that a temporary restriction for the movement of vehicles along this highway was introduced in order to completely eliminate the consequences of avalanches.

“Currently, the expansion of the road in the avalanche area continues, after the completion of these works (1-2 hours), traffic will be allowed,” the IRS reports.

In the meantime, according to the CoES, over the past day, nine avalanches were recorded in Tajikistan – at 327 km of the Dushanbe-Kulyab-Darvaz road, 425, 426, 427, 447, 448 km of the Kulyab-Darvaz-Vanj road, 554 km of the road Vanj-Rushan-Khorog, as well as 12 km of the Khorog-Roshtkala GBAO highway.

From February 15 to February 19, 2023, 200 snow avalanches, 7 landslides and 6 rockfalls were recorded in the country. The avalanches killed 19 people
