President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a telegram of condolences to his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon over the loss of life and destruction caused by avalanches in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.

The Turkmen leader expressed words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, and also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

On the eve of condolences to Emomali Rahmon, the presidents of Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan Vladimir Putin, Alexander Lukashenko and Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed their condolences .

As a result of avalanches in Tajikistan, 17 people died . Most of the victims were in Khorog – 16. Rescuers have been working on the spot for two days. They managed to rescue 12 people alive from under the snow blockages, including two small children. Two people are considered missing. Their search continues
